Chapter 288 Inherit
Chapter 288 Inherit
All along, they were worried about their enemies being able to take advantage of the Magnolia system to be forcefully logged out.
Thus, the idea of taking them into a prison cell managed by an NPC was never in their thoughts.
At the same time, the matter of prison cells brought something to light that they were always in the dark about.
And that matter was how the affected players are unknown and can\'t be contacted. Prison Cell was a special dimension of its own that prevented the captured or detained people in the cell to be unable to have any contacts outside.
Not to mention, they are completely powerless when being detained in a prison cell.
"Could the affected players be trapped in an environment similar to a prison cell?" Griselda turned toward Tang Qiaolian and Liu Lingxin, seemingly wondering if they were thinking the same thing as her.
Although Tang Qiaolian and Liu Lingixn didn\'t respond right away, their facial expression alone was enough to indicate how drastic things had become if their prediction was to be true.
Meanwhile, Candice was confused completely as she didn\'t know whether her suggestion was good or terrible.
"Um, was my suggestion terrible?" She asked nervously, seemingly afraid of wasting their time.
"Of course not, Candice." Griselda snapped out of the terrifying thoughts in her mind and smiled brightly at her.
"If it weren\'t for you, then the three of us would still remain in the dark, not knowing what the enemies are capable of." She added.
Tang Qiaolian also smiled briefly and embraced Candice. "Don\'t worry too much, Candice. Your critical thinking is amazing and we were just amazed by you."
As the women went over to pacify Candice\'s nervousness, the four detained enemies were dumbfounded.
"What should we do? They actually managed to figure out a method by accident." One of the detained enemies whispered anxiously.
"Shush, don\'t show any expression or nervousness. They only guessed it, but they haven\'t confirmed it." Another detained enemy intervened and warned his comrade.
"It\'s all thanks to you. If it weren\'t for your suggestion to ambush them, then we wouldn\'t have been detained in the first place."
Their communication started in a low tone, but as they kept talking, they increased their volume by a large margin. It didn\'t take a few minutes later before they all started fingers at each other, blaming each of them for their screw-up.
"Hoh, here I thought you people are mute, but it seems like you are all energetic." Griselda chuckled softly.
"Indeed, but just the fact that they are starting to argue means our prediction is correct. So now they are having an internal conflict." Tang Qiaolian sneered coldly.
When Tang Qiaolian interrupted their argument, one of the detained enemies clicked his tongue and said one word.
"Shit!"
Now that they have exposed themselves, Tang Qiaolian, Griselda, and Liu Lingxin were ready to do some more interrogation.
And as they are busy prying open their mouths to extract every bit of information, back in the secret hideout, Lei Zhen finally managed to smelt all the required metals.
"Smither Gary, I have finished smelting all of the metals." Lei Zhen shouted, retrieving a water bottle from his inventory to rehydrate himself.
His body was filled with filth and sweat from being exposed to the intense heat for a long duration of time.
The water bottle was consumed in a flash and Lei Zhen needed to retrieve a second water to completely rehydrate his body. While drinking his water, Smither Gary came out of the backroom with a smirk on his face.
"Not bad, just one example and you got the hang of it already. You have some talent indeed." Smither Gary praised.
However, before Lei Zhen could feel proud of his achievement, Smither Gary suddenly laughed wickedly.
"Sike! Did you really think I was going to compliment your slowpoke work? If it was another blacksmith that had been lectured by me, then they would have already finished long." Smither Gary sneered, taunting the crap out of Lei Zhen.
Lei Zhen gave a deadpan expression, almost as if he was too lazy to even bother responding to his taunt.
"Anyway, now that the metals are all smelted by your request, I\'m going to head outside now to get some fresh air." Lei Zhen said, outright ignoring his taunt.
The way to counter such taunting methods is to not give them a single attention, and when the opposing party realized their taunt had no effect, that would be the biggest comeback.
And sure enough, Smither Gary was completely displeased to see zero reaction from Lei Zhen.
\'Tsk, this brat sure could hold his emotion well.\' Smither Gary thought to himself. Nevertheless, he didn\'t plan on taunting him further since he only wanted to mess with him for a bit.
After all, he was still a person that had lived through countless years, so his mentality wasn\'t that weak to be petty enough to target Lei Zhen again and again.
"If you want to head outside, then I won\'t stop you. However, I\'m going to start crafting the Bolten Artifact, so whether you want to stay to spectate is your decision." Smither Gary said and turned around, readying the smithing work.
As for Lei Zhen, he was ready to leave the room because of its intense heat, but hearing Smither Gary was going to start crafting the Bolten Artifact, his movement halted unconsciously.
Without needing anyone to tell him, being able to spectate a famed blacksmith\'s work isn\'t common- not to mention the opportunity to learn something unavailable to the public.
"You\'re doing this on purpose, aren\'t you?" Lei Zhen turned around and asked him in a calm voice.
"The fact that you are willing to reveal your smithing secret to me without care must mean you have an agenda. And if I have to guess what the agenda is, then it\'s most likely you want me to inherit your smithing skills so that you can leave as soon as the opportunity arises."
